Movie Summary :

A flight from Chennai to Delhi gets hijacked within five minutes of its take off from Hyderabad. The hijackers wanted to take the plane to Rawalpindi in Pakistan, but the pilots insist on an emergency landing due to the mistake of one of the hijackers ,who spoiled one of the engines of the plane. So, the plane makes an emergency landing at Tirupati on the grounds of technical snag. However, after its landing, the authorities come to know that the plane is hijacked. Then, the top officials of the government, like secretary to government, police authorities and NSG commandos reach the airport. There are married couple, unmarried youth, elderly people, a politician, an astrologer, a Christian father, and a child who is operated upon for a heart surgery. They are returning to Pakistan. As the trauma continues, one of the passengers gets killed by the hijackers, who demand that the government release a notorious terrorist called Yousuf Khan and Rs 100 crore money. Central Cabinet discusses the issue for about two days even as the trauma of the passengers continues. The NSG chief Ravindra (Nagarjuna) pleads for a commando operation but the authorities refuse. Finally, a decision was taken to release Yousuf Khan. However, while bringing Yousuf Khan to Tirupati, the truck stuck by an avalanche and he dies in that accident. With no option to handover Yousuf Khan, the authorities give permission to Ravindra to take up a commando operation.

Movie Summary :

The story starts with  the introduction of two brothers shiva (jiiva) an honest fisherman and his younger brother ashok (jiiva) an evil lawyer and a womaniser . shiva is a drop out from school and is a fisherman who doesnt like injustice and wrong doers.  Ashok on the other hand is a fraud who acts like a good boy in home and  a play boy cheating every girl he meets. Their parents  played by ponvannan and kuyili loves ashok but hates shiva because of his profession and his rough outlook . The brothers are always on a row with each other. Things go worst when ashok cheats a girl called gayathri ( honey rose ) and kills her , when she threatens to expose him for making her pregnant and not marrying her. Shiva comes to know the truth and tries to expose his younger brother with the help of his love interest swetha (divya spandana).The two are pitted against each other and that sets of a series events leading to an exciting cat and mouse game till the end.

Movie Summary :

Vaanam is Basically Made Up of 5 Stories:

Story 1: Bharath Chakravarthy (Bharath) is an aspiring rock star. His mother wants him to serve army just like his deceased father. Chakravarthy wants to follow his heart to become a rock star. He starts from Bangalore to Hyderabad to give his first live performance.

Story 2: A Farmer's story. His grandson is a bright student. Farmer owes 50000 rupees to a financier and the financier takes farmer's son as a daily labour. Farmer desperately needs money to get his kid back and put him in school. He finds a way of procuring the money and visits Chennai along with his daughter-in-law for that purpose.

Story 3: Saroja (Anushka) is a prostitute in Amalapuram. She works for a brothel company and she gets a cut of 20% as the pimp takes away rest of it. Her dream is to go to Chennai and start her own brothel company. She dupes her employer and flees to Chennai overnight with her hijda assistant.

Story 4: Raheemulla Khureshi (Prakash Raj) gets discrimnated in Chennai for being a muslim and he wants to leave for Dubai to make a living out there. He gets his visa and was about to fly to Dubai from Chennai. But his past catches up with him.

Story 5: Cable Raju (Silambarasan) is a cable operator in the slums of film nagar. He gets hold of a rich girlfriend (Deeksha Seth). He dupes her saying that he is rich kid and spends lot of money on her. She asks him to take her to New Year party eve for which the entry ticket costs rs. 40000 per couple. He is in search of that money.
